Carry-in limit (guide)
Carry-in limit (per person): no set number of days. Check before you buy.
Even for a small amount, check the documents required for Mounjaro and the conditions for bringing it in before you buy.
This is for checking the quantity. It does not guarantee that you can bring it in.
What to have ready
- Doctor's certificate: You can add a certificate (¥3,000) in English and your language, showing your name, the medicine, and the quantity, on the same screen as your medicine.
- Original box: Keep the original box with the clinic's label.
- Carry-on prep: Pack it in your carry-on bag, and declare it if you're unsure.
Entry rules
A notice from the Korea Customs Service dated September 17, 2026 specifically lists overseas Mounjaro and Wegovy as medicines subject to import requirements. A prescription alone may not be enough.
Additional import documents
According to Korea Customs, the medicines covered need documents such as an import-requirement exemption recommendation. The notice covers travelers' baggage, international express shipments, and mail.
A quantity rule is not permission to bring it in
The general six-bottle, personal-use rule appears in a postal customs guide and has exceptions. This rule alone does not mean you can carry Japanese Mounjaro into Korea.
Documents and customs
Check the documents you need
Ask Korea Customs and MFDS which documents, issuing bodies, and application procedures apply to your Japanese product and prescription.
Present them correctly on arrival
Check the declaration procedure before you leave, and carry any required import documents together with your prescription and original packaging. Customs says that goods without the required proof may be held, returned, or destroyed.
Check your injection pen
Before you buy, check the product, dose, and quantity for your specific case. General baggage or bottle limits cannot replace this check. Also check the rules for injection pens, needles, and ice packs with your airline separately.
